Are you passionate about making a difference for people facing domestic abuse and improving service delivery to them?  We are looking to recruit a committed and driven individual with expertise in domestic abuse to lead Rutland County Council’s response to their duties under the Domestic Abuse Act 2021. In this new role you will be responsible for overseeing and implementing the domestic abuse action plan for the council, ensuring that appropriate services are in place to meet the needs of the residents of Rutland.

About you….

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent professional qualification
  • Relevant professional experience in the field of Early Help, Education or Community Development and/or project management qualification
  • Understanding of Domestic Abuse and the impact on people’s lives
  • Significant experience of managing and delivering corporate projects to timescale and within budget, preferably within local government or the public sector

About the role….
As the Domestic Abuse Programme Manager, you will project manage the delivery of services and identify additional support that is required. Other duties include:

  • To implement the Domestic Abuse Strategy and action plan ensuring appropriate reporting and accountability within the governance structure
  • Deliver and commission additional services to meet needs identified and deliver the requirements of the Domestic Abuse Act
  • Act to ensure areas of shortfall are addressed and appropriate services provided/commissioned/ identified
  • To engage key stakeholders including survivors, children, young people and the wider community to map the current provision and identify gaps in service provision that will inform the creation of any new provision

The domestic abuse programme is a new service at RCC and in this role you will be instrumental in supporting our work to achieve DAHA accreditation.

The successful applicant for this post will be subject to an enhanced check by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The costs for the DBS are paid by us.

The Domestic Abuse Programme Manager interviews will be held week commencing 23 May 2022.  Please be advised this could be subject to change, in which case we will give appropriate notice.
