Health & Safety Advisor

Salary: £26,999 - £28,785 (SO1)

We are appointing a Health & Safety Advisor to support the promotion of a positive safety culture at Rutland County Council. A brilliant and unique opportunity to work across the broad range of Council operations to help enable a safe working environment.
The role… You will own our Health & Safety management regime, and ensure effective implementation across the Council. You will act as the Council’s statutory ‘competent person’ for the purposes of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, and provide accurate, considered and up to date occupational safety and health advice and guidance across the entirety of Council functions. You will also design and deliver appropriate training to upskill the workforce.
What we’re looking for… You are NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) qualified, with experience in providing safety support and advice in a functionally diverse organisation. You have experience of assessing risk and recommending practical responses and control measures, and can develop and undertake health and safety audits, inspections and monitoring activities. You have excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and influencing skills, and the digital skills needed to use systems, and create reports and presentations.
